Governor Rod Blagojevich signed SB 0101 in to law! This takes Illinois off the list
of the last eight states that don't have protections for their people with
disabilities. We applaud the Governor for signing this bill and urge him to
support and encourage the strengthening of this LAW!
PUBLIC ACT 094-0378 its
LAW !!!!!
We are starting a new program to help users, parents and care-takers of assistive
technology to help each other and make the manufacturers and suppliers of these
devices become more receptive to complaints and the needs of people with
disabilities. If you had a problem with a device, supplier or manufacturer of an assistive
technology device you can share your experience and outcome of the problem on this
web-site. We will publish your letter describing your experience, problem and result so
that others can make a informed decision when purchasing their next assistive
technology device. This is your forum to express your opinions on your experience
and make your issue known to the manufacturer, supplier and others. By exposing
your situation we can force manufacturers and suppliers to better handle situations or
become less or not at all used by other consumers that will not buy any devices from
them in fear of exposing themselves or their loved ones to the same experience. To
submit your experience send all letters to
atdc@iaftd.org and to view this new service
